Cookie policy
This page explains which cookies and similar technologies (browser local storage) usacarskaunas.lt uses, what they are for, how long they last and how you can change your choice.
Who we are
The site is run by the USA Cars Kaunas club (informal community), represented by the website administrator. Send questions about cookies or personal data to info@usacarskaunas.lt.
How we handle other personal data (member accounts, requests, forms) is described in our privacy policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser and can read later. Browser local storage works in a similar way; in this policy we call both “cookies”.
First-party cookies are set by usacarskaunas.lt itself; third-party cookies are set by other companies whose services we use (such as Google).
Categories we use
Strictly necessary. They remember your language and your cookie choice, keep members signed in, keep an unsaved form and protect forms from bots. They are always on – the site would not work without them.
Analytics. Google Analytics helps us understand how many people visit and which pages they read. It is loaded only after you click “Accept all” or switch analytics on in the settings; until then nothing is loaded from Google Analytics. Advertising and personalisation signals (Google Consent Mode “ad_storage”, “ad_user_data”, “ad_personalization”) are always denied.
Third-party content. The event map (Google Maps) and YouTube and Instagram videos load only when you click “Show map” or “Play”. Those providers may then set their own cookies under their own rules.

Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies are used without consent because they are strictly needed to provide the service you ask for (Article 61(3) of the Lithuanian Law on Electronic Communications, Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive). The related data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Analytics cookies are used only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing before the withdrawal.
Third parties
Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland; Google LLC, USA) collects pseudonymous usage data: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location derived from the IP address (Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP address itself). Google reCAPTCHA v3 protects the sign-in, “Become a member”, “Invite the club” and listing contact forms from bots. The script is loaded only when you submit one of these forms; Google receives your IP address, browser data and on-page behaviour, sets the _GRECAPTCHA cookie and may use google.com cookies you already have. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
Google LLC may transfer data to the United States. Such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified, and on standard contractual clauses.
YouTube videos are shown via youtube-nocookie.com and load only when you press “Play” (until then only a preview image from i.ytimg.com is shown). An Instagram post (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) loads only when you open it – Instagram Privacy Policy. The Google Maps event map loads only when you click “Show map”.
Changing or withdrawing consent
Open at any time (the link is at the bottom of every page) and switch analytics on or off. Switching analytics off stops Google Analytics and deletes its cookies (_ga, _ga_…).
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings (for example under “Privacy” in Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge). If you block strictly necessary cookies you will not be able to sign in and the site will not remember your language. Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Your choice is kept for 6 months. After that, or when we materially change this policy (its version goes up), we will ask again.
Club mailboxes (mail.usacarskaunas.lt)
The club webmail at mail.usacarskaunas.lt (Roundcube) is a separate service used only by holders of club mailboxes. After sign-in it uses its own strictly necessary session cookies (roundcube_sessid, roundcube_sessauth, roundcube_cookies), which last until you close the browser or sign out (the session ends after 30 minutes of inactivity). It uses no analytics or third-party cookies.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing and to withdraw consent. Write to info@usacarskaunas.lt. More in our privacy policy.
If you believe your data is processed unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Lithuanian data protection authority, the State Data Protection Inspectorate (vdai.lrv.lt).
Changes
We update this policy when the cookies we use change. The version and date are shown at the top of the page. If a change affects consent, we will ask for your cookie choice again.
